Why Christianity is NOT a Religion | Philippians1v21
Strengthening Our Relationship with God
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. While we will all fall short on this list from time to time you have to ask yourself if this kind of fruit is evident in your life on a consistent level. There may be some sin that needs to be confessed and repented of. Ask the Lord for wisdom in this area so that your relationship with Him can be established and grow the way that He wants it to.
By reading the scriptures the answer should be clear. God desires our hearts and wants us to have a relationship with Him. Religion will not save you, only Jesus can. Such a good reminder of the importance of focusing the relationship instead of going through the motions.
I often struggle with seeking the approval others but i quickly remember 1 Cor 3, that God tests the motives of each persons heart. Thank you for being a blessing!

Amen Karin, We all struggle from time-to-time. Thank God for His word and for the reminders to get back on track. God is good! Good post, thanks for the reminder.
I have to confess that for a long time I was all about religion. Someone is guilty so they must pay, You did wrong so whatever you get you deserve. I can remember when I was a little girl in church if a member did something wrong they had to sit in the back of the church oh brother, I just dated myself. I can remember a while back I was praying for someone and I could feel another member tying something on my head. Amen Marie, All glory to God and His precious word. God is the one we need to please and I love that He reminds us that He is jealous for our affection.
God bless you Marie! Such a rich piece! Love the focus on Outlr relationship with Jesus.. Sadly so many get caught up in church agendas! Such a good post! Amen Kathy, It comes up time and time again nowadays. Jesus wants us to be authentic believers. Thank you for your encouraging comment.

I must constantly check myself on this. I have to check myself as well and you know what?
Chapter 66. Of the Eucharist
That is exactly what God says we need to do. We are in trouble the moment we stop looking at areas we need to improve in. I learned the difference 23 years ago when Christ was introduced to me as the One and Only Who could save me. I had grown up with religion but never was introduced to the Christ. I knew about Him, but never truly met Him in my person. I was introduced by my to-be husband and his precious mother 23 years ago.
